UX Lead - ADNTRO DNA LAB

UX Lead Designer for ADNTRO.

Overview

ADNTRO contributes to the knowledge of DNA and genetics applied to health. They offer massive sequencing services, bioinformatics analysis and disease prevention studies by calculating the polygenic risk (PRS). ADNTRO was selected in the "10 most important Biotech companies of 2022" by Life Sciences Review.

Problem

In 2020, ADNTRO had a very effective technology to analyse DNA and offer users a very accurate report of their genes. The main issue was that the Website lacked a unified design and an optimised User Experience to show the information in a right way.

  • Lot of DNA information available for users
  • UI Not user-friendly for general audience
  • Messy Dashboard without user guidance
  • Screens not ready for mobile devices
  • Unconsistent titles, images style
  • Confusing hierarchy

Hired as a freelancer by ADNtro after its first round of funding, my role was:

  • Improve the whole the whole site UX
  • Adapt the structure to the mobile view
  • Redesign the Administration panel
  • Redesign the graphics that the UI would use

Wireframing & Prototyping

With the proper planning, we were able to confidently move into creating the storyboard for an audiovisual product. We took the decision to focus more on the easiest way to explain every advantage, cause once people knew the programs, they really loved them indeed, so the challenge was to to show them in a nicer and more effective way, that even could be understood without sound or captions.

Results

ADNTRO is a project in constant evolution, as happens with genetics. The new UI/UX designs were the first step towards a vastly improved version of the aesthetic in the project. You can check the current status on their website..
